SGMUN 2025 Conference’s Requirements
1. Conference’s Requirements :
a. Each Participant must fill out the related application posted on our official SGMUN website to confirm their participation.
b. Each School has to nominate two possible persons one for the chair position and the other for the vice chair position. (Note: Nomination doesn’t necessitate acceptance.)
c. Each delegate must prepare three (3) position papers one for each topic.
d. The resolutions will be clause-based minimum: two clauses (one operative +one preambulatory).
e. One student ambassador representing his/her school.
f. The student ambassador must prepare a one-minute speech for the opening ceremony.
2.Dress code:
Male participants must wear a formal suit and female participants must wear formal outfits during the sessions.
3. General rules:
a. Participants must address each other with a high sense of respect and must follow the rules of the debate and maintain the decorum of the conference during the sessions.
b. Participants can’t leave the conference for any personal reasons unless with the schools’ supervisors’ and the board’s knowledge as well as permission. (The consequences of any violation with respect to this rule is not to lie upon St. George’s School).
c. No smoking is allowed for participants including cigarettes, hookah, or any kind of electronic vapes (any violation pertaining to this rule results in the suspension of the violator).
d. Student participants must respect and follow timelines accurately and avoid any tardiness.
e. By applying to our conference, you are consenting to be filmed and photographed.
f. Badges must always be visible (it is of paramount importance for all chairs, delegates, and admins to adhere to this rule).
Conference fees:
The participation fee for each delegate is 150$, each chair/vice-chair 120$, and for supervisors it is free. The last deadline for the payment is due to July 30, 2024. (Note: this is also the only date for payments) The payment must be conveyed to the supervisors’ who will hand them over to St. George’s School in Jerusalem secretary’s office.
